Multi-site estates
Aligning business energy contracts across multiple sites
Can we align different energy contract end dates across our estate?
Contract end dates can sometimes be brought together over time, but alignment is not a free administrative change. Shorter or bridging contracts, staged tenders and early commitments can each alter price, risk and flexibility. Start with a verified estate schedule and choose a target structure deliberately.

Map the estate before choosing a date
Record each legal customer, location, MPAN or MPRN, supplier, contract end date, notice provision, consumption and likely estate change. Do not assume all supplies at one address share a contract.
Compare the routes
A business may renew supplies in groups, use shorter arrangements to reach a common date, or retain separate dates where that reduces risk. Ask for the total cost and contractual consequence of each route rather than treating alignment as the objective by itself.
- Which sites may open, close or be sold?
- Would one renewal date create concentration risk?
- Can suppliers support all meter types and legal entities?
- Will consolidated billing retain site-level detail?
- Who owns renewals and data after the tender?
Preserve an exceptions process
Even an aligned portfolio will encounter acquisitions, disposals, new connections and landlord-managed supplies. Keep an estate register that can absorb exceptions without losing control of the main buying programme.
