Multi-site estates
Can a multi-site business consolidate its energy invoices?
Can we receive fewer energy invoices without losing detail for each site?
Suppliers or service providers may offer consolidated billing or reporting, but the practical result varies. A single document can simplify processing only if each underlying site, supply point, period and charge remains traceable. First reconcile the estate; then decide how invoices, data and cost allocation should be grouped.

Consolidation can mean different things
It may mean one summary with supporting site invoices, one payment covering several accounts, a broker-created report, or a genuinely consolidated supplier bill. Ask to see a sample and confirm which legal entities, accounts and supply points can be combined.
Preserve the audit trail
Finance teams still need to allocate cost, validate consumption, manage VAT and investigate exceptions.
- Unique MPAN or MPRN and site name
- Billing and meter-reading period
- Actual or estimated consumption
- Contract and unit-rate reference
- Cost centre and legal entity
- Adjustments, credits and disputed amounts
Fix data before changing presentation
Consolidating incorrect account names, addresses or meter relationships makes errors harder to see. Build the Company–Location–Supply Point record first, and keep an exception process for missing or unexpected invoices.
