Translate a pence-per-kWh charge into a contract total
A small number attached to every unit can become a material amount across a long contract or large estate. Use the broker's written disclosure and your best consumption estimate.
Illustrative charge over the contract: £7,500.00
Calculation: annual kWh × years × pence per kWh ÷ 100. This simple model assumes the stated consumption and charge apply throughout. It excludes VAT, volume tolerance, other fees and contract-specific adjustments.
Questions to ask
- Is this the complete remuneration, including fees paid by the supplier or another party?
- Does it apply to estimated, nominated or actual consumption?
- Is it included in the quoted unit rate or invoiced separately?
- What service is provided before and after signature?
